Nagpur: HCG-NCHRI Nagpur Center and top 10 Cancer organizations like Indian Association of Surgical Oncology (IASO), Association of Radiation Oncologist Of India (AROI), Indian Society of Medical & Pediatric Oncology (ISMPO),Indian Co-operative Oncology Network (ICON), Association of Breast Surgeons of India (ABSI), Indian Cancer Society (ICS), Vidarbha Association of Pathologists
& Microbiologists (VAPM)), Breast Cancer Foundation India (BCFI), Indian Association of Hyperthermia Oncology and Medicine (IAHOM) and Cancer Care India have joined hands to organize an International Cancer Congress at Nagpur on 9th and 10th JULY 2016. The Formal Inauguration of International Cancer Congress 2016 will be held at the hands of Devendra Fadnavis, Chief Minister, in the august presence of Nitin Gadkari, cabinet minister for Road,Transport, Highways and Shipping, GOI on Saturday 9th July at 11 AM at Hotel Centre Point, Ramdaspeth ,Nagpur.This would be followed by LIFE TIME Achievement Awards to be conferred upon fellows who have dedicated their entire life for alleviating the sufferings of cancer patients. Padma Bhushan Dr Praful B Desai (Surgical Oncologist and former Director Tata Memorial Hospital, Mumbai) Padma Bhushan Dr Suresh H Adwani (Medical Oncologist ,Director Jaslok Hospital, Mumbai) Dr Anita Borges (Surgical Onco Pathologist and Director SRL Diagnostic, Mumbai) Dr Harish Kulkarni (Radiation Oncologist and former Director, RST Cancer Hospital, Nagpur) Dr C Palanivelu (Minimally Invasive Surgical Oncologist and Chairman GEM Hospital and Research Centre, Coimbatore) The theme for the Congress is “Changing Paradigm in Cancer Management”. Our main objective is to place this Congress at the forefront of development of knowledge for the prevention and treatment of cancer in the country. Registration for the Congress is complimentary to enable maximum participation of young oncologist and post graduate students. We are really overwhelmed by the tremendous response that we have received with 12 International faculty, 100 National faculty, more than 100 papers and posters, and about 1000 delegates from all parts of the country are participating. Best papers and posters will be awarded and given cash prizes.MMC has accredited the conference and has awarded 4 credit points
Medical Trade Exhibition is also arranged with a theme of “Changing Paradigm in Cancer Management”. Best stall will be awarded. Interesting part in this would be a “NAGPUR Special Stall” by Cancer survivors. On 3rd July, School Children Painting Competition (of 7 -15 yrs) was organized in collaboration with the Basoli group of Nagpur .The theme was “ Life after Cancer”. 170 children including cancer patients from various schools participated. Best 20 paintings were selected which will be displayed during the conference.
You are requested to attend the inaugural session at 11 a.m. on Saturday and give appropriate coverage in your media. You also can have personal interaction with the dignitaries and experts and know their views. Since awareness plays a major role in fight against cancer, your esteemed role in public enlightenment shall be doing a yeomen service to the society.
