FM Arun Jaitley reviews earnings of PSU banks

Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley reviews earnings performance of public sector banks; says steel and infra companies major contributors of NPAs in PSU banks; calls upon banks to take initiative on NPAs, credit growth and financial inclusion under new banking legislations. Finance Minister Arun Jaitley on Friday reviewed the performance of public sector banks on benchmarks, including progress

of credit growth, asset quality, education and housing loan, and social security schemes.

The meeting also focused on issues relating to financial inclusion and literacy as well as non-performing assets of the lenders. 

He called upon banks to take initiative on NPAs, credit growth and financial inclusion under new banking legislations.
