Centre to aid rain-hit Andhra Pradesh, Telangana

Hyderabad: The Centre has promised to assist rain-battered AP and Telangana states. Central teams will visit both the states to assess the damage to life and property after TS and AP submit reports on the rain-havoc, Union minister M. Venkaiah Naidu said in New Delhi on Wednesday. He briefed his Cabinet colleagues Rajnath Singh, Arun Jaitley and Radha Mohan Singh on the damage caused by
rains in both the states. “I undertook aerial survey of flood-hit areas in AP. After reaching Delhi, I met my Cabinet colleagues and explained to them the damage caused to crops in AP and TS. I told them about the need to come to rescue of farmers and people in general in both the states,” Mr Venkaiah Naidu told media persons.

He said his colleagues assured full support to the affected states and promised to send Central teams once they get reports on the extent of damages.
“In the meantime, the states should utilise funds available from CRF. If the damage is more, funds will be considered,” Mr Venkaiah Naidu added.
