IIT, Mumbai chooses khadi as their Convocation robe

IIT, Mumbai chooses Khadi as their Convocation robe. After Gujarat University now khadi has also made a niche in the hearts of authorities of premiere Indian Institute of Technology, Mumbai. Appeal and popularity of Khadi has fascinated them to place an order for 3,500 uttarias or angavastrams made of honey comb towel cotton Khadi for use by students at the time of Institute’s convocation. It is a
significant development and this shows that Khadi is gaining ground in every sphere of life. IIT, Mumbai Director Prof Devang Khakhar said that Khadi is our national symbol and we have adopted Khadi to inculcate feeling of Nationalism in the students.
