Swachh Bharat: Pune sets new model of garbage disposal

The Swachh Bharat campaign has changed the way garbage disposal and sanitation is looked at in India. Every day new and ever more heartening examples of the emergence of an ever growing people's movement in the direction of Swachh Bharat are seen. An NGO in Pune is taking it upon itself to change the way garbage is disposed of in this upcoming smart city. In Pune garbage disposal
is looked after by the municipal corporation. These days, however, a revolution of sorts is being seen in this thanks to the work of an NGO Swachh.

Its employees come from underprivileged sections of society and their work and the wages it brings has changed their entire lives and those of the city dwellers as well.

The organisation works efficiently with fixed hours and wages so is the meticulous training and working methods they are taught 80 % of the nearly 2300 workers are women and all steps are taken to ensure their protection from disease.

As a soon to become smart city, Pune sets forth a model for many others a model for a cleaner India the benefits of which are manifold.
