India, Pakistan expel High Commission officials

Pakistan is being exposed on all fronts - terrorism, radicalisation, crackdown on democratic dissent and clandestine activities like espionage. Pakistan High Commission staffer Mehmood Akhtar has been asked to leave India within 48 hours. Akhtar was detained by Delhi Police for his involvement in espionage activities. Later, he was let off. External Affairs Ministry spokesperson said in New Delhi last
evening, that, Akhtar was declared persona non-grata and he along with his family has to leave India by this Saturday.

Meanwhile, Pakistan retaliates by declaring an official of Indian High Commission, Surjeet singh's persona non grata. Singh has been asked to leave pakistan by Saturday. Pakistan Foreign Secretary has expressed deep concern over activities of Surjeet Singh violative of Vienna convention and establishing diplomatic norms.
