Paris deal to begin in November

The landmark Paris climate deal will enter into force in 30 days, after being ratified by 72 countries accounting for more than 56 percent of global greenhouse gas emissions. The threshold for entry into force of the Paris Agreement has been achieved on Wednesday. The accord will formally begin on November 4. Canada became the latest nation to ratify the landmark Paris climate accord. The Paris
deal has been so far ratified by 73 countries accounting for more than 56 percent of the global greengas emissions.

On Tuesday, the European Parliament ratified the accord on behalf of the 28-member bloc, after several EU member states - including Germany and France - individually approved the agreement. Other major emitters including China, the US and India are among the countries that have already ratified the deal.
