Socialist leader Yuvraj Singh passes away

Veteran socialist leader and former MP Yuvraj Singh today passed away at his residence in Katihar this morning after prolonged illness. He was 103. Singh breathed his last at his residence in Katihar town around 3.45 AM, family sources said.  He is survived by a son and two daughters. Singh represented Katihar in Lok Sabha twice in 1977 from Biju Lok Dal and in 1989 on Janata Dal ticket.
Chief Minister Nitish Kumar condoled death of the socialist leader and announced his last rites would be conducted with state honour. In his condolence message, the Chief Minister said Singh had provided strenght to socialism throughout his life.

Singh had a valuable contribution in the field of socialism and politics which could not be forgotten, the Chief Minister said. 

Kumar directed minister Awdesh Kumar Singh to participate in Singh's funeral.
