PVC pipes maker Finolex enters Limca Book of Records

Finolex Industries Ltd, one of the leading suppliers of PVC pipes & fittings for the agriculture and non-agricultural sectors in India, has been awarded with the national record certificate by The Limca Book of Records for conducting the largest number of plumbers meets organised simultaneously across 26 states and 58 cities. The activity, which was carried out on the occasion of World Plumbing Day on
March 11, 2016, was recognised and appreciated by senior plumbers across the country, focused on the importance of skilled plumbers in the country. More than 3,000 plumbers participated in this activity.

We feel great pride and greater responsibility to conduct similar activities in the future, while attempting to empower the plumber community with skills required for the job,” said Nitin Kulkarni, president - sales & marketing, Finolex Industries Ltd.

He added, “Skill development is the first step towards employment generation and a better lifestyle. The contribution of the construction industry in the country’s GDP is significant, and plumbers are one of the important pillars of this industry. Finolex takes active part in training and development of the plumbers. We have already collaborated with Kushal - a training wing of CREDAI Pune Metro for training plumbers in the country.” 

The plumber meets were aimed at imparting training about the best industry practices and technologies to plumbers and felicitate them for their contribution towards maintaining hygiene, sanitation, and saving water. While the company continues its interaction with the plumbing community by conducting plumbers meet throughout the year in various parts of the country, going forward, it also plans to increase the size and scale of these events.

The company, India’s largest backward integrated PVC pipes and fittings’ manufacturer, has manufacturing plants at Ratnagiri (Maharashtra), Urse (Pune, Maharashtra) and Masar (Gujarat) with a total production capacity of 250,000 metric tonne (MT) per annum. Finolex’s resin manufacturing facility in Ratnagiri provides a consistent supply of quality resin to its plants. The open sea cryogenic jetty, the first of its kind in the Indian private sector, has been the hallmark of their PVC complex.
