Over 4,000 entries have been received by the National Film Development Council (NFDC) for the 'Swachh Bharat' short film festival and top 10 filmakers will get cash awards. The jury has selected 20 short films out of a total 4,346 entries, and of these 10 will get awards, an official statement said.The 'Swachh Bharat' short film festival was organised by the National Film Development
Council (NFDC) on behalf of Information and Broadcasting Ministry to showcase inspiring stories and send a message among citizens about sanitation and its linkages with public health as the Government's cleanliness campaign completes two years on October 2. The winners will be felicitated by I&B minister M Venkaiah Naidu at a function on Gandhi Jayanti, where Minister of State for I&B Rajyavardhan Rathore will also be present.
In the film festival, short films with duration of not more than three minutes and shot in HD format was invited for the competition. The film could in Hindi, English or any of the listed official languages of India.
The jury members comprised of actor-producer Vani Tripathi, filmmaker Gitanjali Rao and adman Prahlad Kakkar.
The makers of the top ten films would be given a cash award of Rs 10 lakh to first film, Rs 5 lakh to next three films and Rs 2 lakh respectively to 6 films, while the remaining 10 films would be awarded certificates, the statement said.
