India-Singapore sign key MoUs on skill development

Defence and security cooperation is a key pillar of India and Singapore's strategic partnership, says PM Narendra Modi; Both Prime Ministers condemn terrorism at the joint press conference; Key MoU's signed in several fields including skill development and industrial commerce. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the visiting Singapore Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong on Tuesday held a
delegation-level talks in New Delhi. Addressing a joint press conference, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that cross border terror and radicalisation are grave challenges to security. He said, those who believe in peace & humanity need to stand and act together against this menace.

PM Modi said, our defence and security cooperation is a key pillar of our strategic partnership. He said, cooperation with Singapore in the framework of ASEAN, East Asia Summit and the ASEAN Regional Framework is aimed at building an open and inclusive architecture for regional cooperation. 

Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that partnership with Singapore aims to combine the strengths of Singapore with the scale of India and dynamism of Singapore with vibrancy of our States to deliver benefits to people of both countries. 

Prime Minister said that trade and investment ties with Singapore form the bedrock of the bilateral relationship. 

Visiting Singapore Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong condemned the Uri attack and expressed condolences to the victim's family. 

Prime Minister Lee said that Singapore and India are committed to deepening their bilateral relationship and are keen to work together in several areas such as developing smart cities and skills training.
