Committee on Fodder Development

Government has decided to constitute a National Steering Committee headed by Secretary, Department of Animal Husbandry, Dairying and Fisheries, Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare, according to a PIB release. It also plans to set up a Technical Committee headed by Director, National Institute of Animal Nutrition and Physiology (NIANP) Banguluru, on issues related to Feed and Fodder Development in the

country. The decision has been taken in a review meeting held by the Secretary (ADF), Devendra Chaudhry with National Institute of Animal Nutrition and Physiology (NIANP) Banguluru, Indian Grassland and Fodder Research Institute, Jhansi, National Dairy Development Board, Anand and ICAR, here on Tuesday.

The issues of increasing the nutritious fodder within the available resources were also discussed at length, reads the PIB release.

Fodder is an important input of dairy cooperative and the spiraling price of fodder is behind the recent price-hike of milk in the country.
