JAMMU, Aug 22: Indian Council for Cultural Relations ICCR), Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India honoured the artist of Germany, Bee Seavers who came all way from Hamburg (Germany) to present a ‘Santoor Recital’ which ICCR Jammu organised at Abhinav Theatre, Jammu with the collaboration and support of J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages. The honours were done by Regional Director
ICCR Jammu, Balwant Thakur and Dr A S Amn, Additional Secretary, J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages. The visiting artist from Germany not only mesmerised the audience through his perfection over the playing of the Santoor but also set a bench mark for the local artists that how one can keep the audience spellbound by the sheer magic of excellence.
Speaking on the occasion, Balwant Thakur, Regional Director, ICCR Jammu informed that soon Jammuites are going to get another life time opportunity to witness a world performance in Jammu as a contemporary dance group from China is coming for two performances in Jammu.
The visiting artist Bee Seavers while responding to the overwhelming response of learned Jammu audiences expressed great satisfaction in performing Jammu and desired to perform here again and again and do touring performances in other parts of the State.
He was accompanied by yet another accomplished Tabla player from Mumbai Akshay Jadhav who is an upcoming name in the field of music and also plays different Percussions like the Djembe, Cajon, Darbuka and many other instruments. His persona defines his love for music. He started his training in music at the tender age of 6, from his father, Ashok B Jadhav. Also started learning from Pt Ramswaroop Ratoniya and Sangeeta Agnihotri. Since 2003, his passion for music made him learn from the renowned tabla player and a music maestro ‘Taalyogi Padmashri’ Pandit Suresh Talwalkar.
