Mr. Yogeshwar Sangwan (IFS: 1994), presently Ambassador of India to Armenia, has been concurrently accredited as Ambassador to Georgia, with residence in Yerevan . the Ministry of External Affairs said that Mr. Vishvas Vidu Sapkal (IFS:1998), presently High Commissioner of India to Fiji, had been concurrently accredited as the High Commissioner to Kiribati, with residence in Suva (Fiji).

Georgia is a member of the Council of Europe and the GUAM Organization for Democracy and Economic Development. It contains two de facto independent regions, Abkhazia and South Ossetia, which gained limited international recognition after the 2008 Russo-Georgian War.
