Scotland Yard's first woman chief takes charge

Cressida Dick, first woman commissioner of Scotland Yard in its 187-year history, took charge of her post today, promising to protect the people of London, which recently (हाल ही में) saw a lone wolf (भेड़िया) attack on the British Parliament.  The 56-year-old was caught on camera walking into her new office at the Metropolitan Police headquarters in London wearing trainers and carrying a bunch of bananas.

Sarojini Naidu was the first female to become the governor of an Indian state. She governed Uttar Pradesh from 15 August 1947 to 2 March 1949.
Sucheta Kriplani was the first woman to become chief minister of an Indian state, Uttar Pradesh, in 1963.

Of the thirteen states to have been headed by a female chief minister, only three—Delhi, Tamil Nadu and Uttar Pradesh—have had two woman premiers.
