Google Launches Aero For Hyperlocal Services In India
Google is leveraging(लाभकारी) its Internet-related services including various technologies like online advertising technologies, search, cloud computing, software, and hardware. Now Google has come up with a new one that is related to home services like food delivery, in India. After the slowdown in fundraising(धन उगाहने वाले) by the home service start-ups in India, Google has launched its new app, Aero, exploring various home services in India. This is an Android based app currently operational in only two cities of India, Bangalore, and Mumbai and seems to be launched in others soon.
According to the description of this app, it will provide the services like local electricians, painters, plumbers, cleaners and many more, along with the food delivery services from your favorite restaurants, chefs, and providers. It will also provide the check-out services to pay by card, net banking or cash on delivery. The users can specialize its search by their preferable dish or restaurant scheduling orders on their suitable time. Vegetarian and non-vegetarian options are also available on the app. According to an email by its spokesperson, Google described this launch,
“We are constantly experimenting with ways to better serve our users in India. In this case, Aero makes everyday chores and ordering food easier by bringing together useful local services like ordering food or hiring a cleaner in one place.”
The California-based Google has put together some companies that already provide home services and food delivery services in India but due to the slowdown, these are on the verge of being closed. Google has joined its hand with the companies like Freshmenu, Box8, Zomato, Swiggy etc. The companies Box8, Freshmenu and Faasos will provide food delivery services, on the behalf of this app, while UrbanClap and Zimmber will be responsible for home services.
The India-born CEO of Google, Sundar Pichai announced during his visit to India, in January, this year,
“India would be a 1 trillion dollar digital economy in the next 3-4 years and it makes business sense for Google to have more India-centric products.”
With this app launch, this dream of Sundar Pichai seems to be turning into a reality.
