Centre kicks off programme on cyber physical systems

The Department of Science and Technology (DST) has initiated(शुरू किया) a Cyber-Physical Systems (CPS) program.CPS is an interdisciplinary(अंतःविषय) field that deals with the deployment(तैनाती) of

computer-based systems that do things in the physical world such as, the self-driven cars produced by Google and Tesla. It has been conceived (ध्यान में लाना) as a Rs 3,000-crore exercise(उपयोग) that would at first take root in some of the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs). An initial budget of Rs 100 crore has been earmarked (निर्धारित) for the project in the current financial year.
