Indian Air Force celebrates its 84th anniversary

The Indian Air Force is celebrating its 84th anniversary today. Splendid air aerobic shows and showcase of air prowess by different fighter planes were at display at glittering ceremony in Hindon Airbase of Ghaziabad. The day started off with a lot of spectacular stunts and performances by various teams of Air force. Honouring the brave hearts of the Indian Air Force, Air Chief Marshal
Arup Raha conferred Vayu Sena Medals, Vayu Sena Medals for Gallantry as well as Vishist Seva Medals.

After inspecting guard of honour, Air Chief Marshal said that the new security threats pose new challenges for security forces and that Pathankot and Uri terror attacks are the stark reminder of the times we live in.

The Indian Air Force Chief also said that acquisition of 36 Rafael aircraft in the coming years will greatly enhance IAF's operational capabilities. 

President Pranab Mukherjee and Prime Minister Narendra Modi greeted the Indian air Force on its 84th anniversary. 

Pranab Mukherjee in his message said that over last eight decades, the IAF has emerged as an immensely professional and combat-ready force. 

While, saluting air warriors & their families on Air Force day, Prime Minister said that their courage makes India proud. 

IAF'S Sarang Helicopter Display Team and PC-7 Aircraft showed their prowess at Air Force Day celebrations.
