Poet Shafi Khan passes away
Noted poet of Pharai language, Muhammad Shafi Khan passed away here on Saturday. Khan besides(के अतिरिक्त) a name in Pahari literature was an authority on Urdu, Persian and Kashmiri literature. “His writings amount as a valuable contribution to upbringing(पालना पोसना) of Pahari language and literature”, said Muhammad Yaqoob Khan, a veteran of Pahari Class of people. Muhammad Shafi Khan had been translating historian Hassan Khoeham’s Persian book, "Tarikh-e- Kashmir” into Pahari language but his this dream could not be realized because of his death.
People of various walks of life here have condoled(शोक व्यक्त किया) the demise(मृत्यु) and expressed solidarity(एकजुटता) with the bereaved(वंचित) family.
