Cabinet approves signing of multilateral convention to implement tax treaty

The Cabinet approves India's decision of the signing of the multilateral (बहुपक्षीय) convention to implement tax treaty related measures to prevent base erosion and profit sharing. This multilateral treaty is in line with the PM's vision to root out black money.  In a boost to domestic nuclear industry, the Union Cabinet has approved building of 10 units of indigenous Pressurized Heavy Water Reactors for India.   The Cabinet decision to build Reactors will generate orders of almost Rs. 70,000 crore to domestic industry and add 7,000 MW capacity.

Cabinet has approved introduction of SHAKTI - a new coal allocation policy for the power sector.

SHAKTI stands for Scheme for harnessing(काम में लाने से) and Allocation Koyla (coal) transparently in India.
