The India International CSR Conclave & Awards 2017 held in New Delhi

New Delhi: The much awaited and prestigious CSR Excellence Conclave and Awards 2017, the most inclusive and diverse(विविध) awards of its kind, were held in the Indian capital city of New Delhi. The event aims to provide a common platform to CSR professionals for exchange of ideas about strengthening CSR ecosystem in India for sustainable impact. It celebrates business excellence and innovation in Corporate Social Responsibility across a broad range of disciplines(विषयों), making it the only one of its kind in India.

The event initiated with customary lamp lighting ceremony in presence of the Chief Guest, Krishna Raj, Minister of State for Women and Child Development, Government of India. In the inaugural session, she said, “Women Empowerment in CSR aims to enable the women with skills and providing them with the livelihood (रोजी रोटी) for a secure future. Today women are making their presence felt in every field. It is important to recognize the role of women in progress and development of society. Society’s development without the development of women is unimaginable(अकल्पनीय)”.

Attended by delegates and speakers including MD’s, CEO’s, CMO’s, CSR Heads, CSR Managers, Strategy Heads, Health, Safety and Environment Managers, Public Relation and Communication Managers, the conference was a roaring success. The event showcased world class presentations and interactive sessions from leading practitioners from the world on how organizations use CSR to integrate economic, environmental and social objectives with their operations and growth. Expert speakers provided an in-depth analysis of contemporary CSR issues, trends, challenges, standards and strategies.

Speaking on the occasion Mr. Sarvesh Kumar Tiwari, Founder and Managing Director, PR Professionals said, “The prime objective of business has been to make profits by exploiting the natural and human resources. Such practices have caused crisis that we have been facing presently and are endangered to our future generations. Corporate Social Responsibility is an important function for businesses to establish themselves as well-wishers in the social development and in preventing natural and environmental crisis. Each and every individual should be accountable for fulfilling their responsibility towards the society, environment and planet.”

The mega event also hosted a panel discussion moderated(संयमित करना)  by Ms. Ritu Jhingon, Head, Project Nandghar, Vedanta Limited, Mr. Charudutt Panigrahi, Founder and Mentor, FIDR and Mr. Abhishek Ranjan, Global Head – Sustainability and CSR, Brillio Technologies. Members in the discussion were Dr. S. Sundar Manoharan, Vice Chancellor, Karunya University, Mr. Vijay Chadda, CEO, Bharti Foundation, etc. The discussion centered on The Ethical and Economic Aspects of CSR, CSR Approach in a Developing Country and Developing Sustainable and Responsible Business through CSR.

Some of the key panelists were Dr. S. Sundar Manoharan, Vice Chancellor, Karunya University and etc., Ms. Mohini Daljeet Singh, CEO, Max India Foundation, Mr. Shrikant Sinha CEO, NASSCOM Foundation, etc. Each session witnessed keen interest and inquisitiveness from the audience which interacted with the panelists to discuss opportunities of arriving at sustainable and replicable solutions. The award categories included awards like CSR Company of the Year, CSR Leader of the Year, CSR Practice of the Year, etc. For the awards ceremony, over 200 delegates both local and international were present including some of the region’s most established organizations.

Winners from different categories who were awarded for the excellence in their respective fields on that occasion were Tech Mahindra Foundation-CSR Company of the year, Pernod Ricard India (P) Ltd.–CSR Company of the year in food beverage category, Toyota Kirloskar Motor Pvt. Limited-CSR Practice of the year, Mohini Daljeet Singh, CEO, Max India Foundation-CSR Leader of the Year, etc.
