Maharashtra to start water transport in two years: Fadnavis

MUMBAI: The Maharashtra government is working to start the Navi Mumbai-Gateway of India water transport facility by March 2018, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis informed the Legislative Assembly today. "We are in process to make all necessary facilities to start this transport, Fadnavis said. "Government is also working for Mumbai-Konkan water transport and the report making is in the final stages," Fadnavis
said, replying to a query during the question hour. "We have lost lot of time in last 15 years and nothing was being done for port led development. But now we are working extensively for this," he said.

"We will ensure and keep in mind the rights of fishermen while developing ports," Fadnavis said.
