Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu Inaugurates Key Freight Sector Initiatives(पहल) of Railways

The Union Minister of Railways Shri Suresh Prabhakar Prabhu inaugurated four key freight sector initiatives on March 2, 2017 at National Rail Museum, New Delhi to attract Suresh Prabhu more freight

The 4 Key Freight Sector Initiatives Includes:

Policy of ‘Long Term Contracts/Agreements’ with major customers.  Indian Railways Freight and Passenger Business Action Plan-2017-18 . Confirmation(पुष्टीकरण) trial of Double Stack Dwarf Container Train under wire, a New Delivery Model. 

The demonstration (प्रदर्शन) run of Ro-Ro (Roll on–Roll off) service across the National Capital Region- A Pilot project of Indian railways for ‘Green Transportation’ – to reduce road congestion and improve environment. As a part of the occasion, Centre for Transportation(परिवहन) Research and Management (CTRAM) also organised an 18th National Rail Transport Seminar on the theme : ‘Transforming IR’s Freight Services: Initiatives launched and the Road Ahead’.
