Chris Stapleton, Carrie Underwood win top honour at CMA Awards

Misunderstood.Garth Brooks won the entertainer of the year honour, which was presented to him by pop star Taylor Swift.
Vocal duo of the year award went to Brothers Osborne, while vocal group of the year was awarded to Little Big Town.
Maren Morris earned the new artist of the year award. Guitarist Dann Huff won the musician of the year honour.
R&B star Beyonce made a surprise appearance at the awards where she performed to her song “Daddy Lessons” with music band Dixie Chicks.

Country Music Association Awards

The Country Music Association Awards, also known as the CMA Awards or CMAs, are presented to country music artists and broadcasters to recognize outstanding achievement in the country music industry.
The televised annual presentation ceremony features performances and award presentations by popular country music artists.
The first CMA awards were presented at an untelevised ceremony at the Nashville Municipal Auditorium in 1967.
