Essar Oil wins Skoch BSE Awards for Energy Conservation, Environment Management


Essar Oil Ltd. has been conferred with the Skoch BSE Award in recognition of its energy conservation and environment management initiatives. This is the second time that the company has been awarded for its commitment to green initiatives. Lalit Kumar Gupta, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Essar Oil Ltd, accepted the award from Rajeev Agarwal, whole-time Director of SEBI, at a
glittering ceremony held at the BSE Convention Hall in Mumbai on June 9 2016. Sameer Kochar, Chairman-SKOCH Group, and Ashish Chauhan, the CEO of BSE, were present at the event.

Essar Oil's One EOL project was also the proud recipient of the Order of Merit at the Skoch Summit. Harsh Bhosale, Sr VP and Head-HR, Vijay Deshpande, GM-HR for corporate and markets, and KC Swain, Head-Technical at the refinery represented the company.

Essar Oil received a total of five awards, including the ones for environment management, energy conservation and Best HR Management Practices.

"The award stands testimony to the efforts of Essar Oil Ltd.'s Refinery team to institute sound environment management practices. We have consistently demonstrated the highest levels of commitment to environment management and energy conservation," said Gupta.

Every year the Skoch BSE awards are conferred on corporate who demonstrate outstanding business leadership, while simultaneously contributing to India's socio-economic growth. They recognize Indian organizations who demonstrate strong leadership, commitment to improving the sectors they operate in by creating stakeholder value, improvements in business process and quality, and focus on skill development, employment generation and good corporate citizenship.
