Ravi Shastri has resigned as a member of the Cricket Committee of the International Cricket Council (ICC), of which he has been a member as a media representative for the last six years. As of yet, there is no hint that his resignation from the committee has anything to do with him being overlooked for the job of the Indian National Coach.Shastri is thought to have expressed his desire to resign from the
committee quite some time ago and has even written to ICC chairman Shashank Manohar about the possibility of his resignation. He stated that he has been a member of the committee for quite some time and he believes that it’s necessary for him to take a break from administrative responsibilities and suggested that it may be time for some one else to step in.The committee's meeting, which was held on 2-3 June at Lords, was missed by Shastri due to his commentary assignments. However, he did confirm sending in his resignation but did not divulge further details.
