USD 3.3 billion assistance Launched by UNICEF The UN Children’s Fund (UNICEF) launched an appeal for the year 2017 on January 31, 2017 for USD 3.3 billion to help over 48 million children across the globe (दुनिया भर में) who are driven (चलाया हुआ) Nepal designated to UNICEF's executive board member from their homes due to conflict(संघर्ष) , disasters and climate change. The
appeal was made with regards to the fear (डर) that US may cut down its funding which is the top donor contributing about 40 percent to the international organizations. Among (के बीच में) the UNICEF appeal for 2017, nearly 42 percent, USD 1.4 billion, would be used to support children from Syria living as refugees (शरणार्थियों) across the borders (सीमाओं के पार) in neighbouring states. Besides, the assistance (सहायता) would also focus on countries like Yemen, South Sudan and Nigeria which heavily affected children due to wars. The appeal for 2017 is 18 percent more than the previous year. The Top donor countries include s United States, Germany, Britain and European Commission.
v. UNICEF is continuously trying to ensure (सुनिश्चित) that children have access to school to avoid lost of generation of youth in future.
