Justice Mian Saqib Nisar Sworn in as the 25th Chief Justice of Pakistan
Justice Mian Saqib Nisar has been appointed as the as 25th  Chief Justice of Pakistan. He took the oath to new CJP at a ceremony held in the President House called “Awan-e-Sadr” on December 31, 2016. Pakistan’s President Mamnoon Hussain administered oath to the new Chief Justice of Supreme Court.
62-Year-Old Nisar has replaced Justice Anwar Zaheer Jamali who retired on December 30, 2016 after 15 months service since September 2015. The important delegates present at the ceremony included Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, Chairman of the Senate, Speaker of the National Assembly, Federal Ministers, Services Chiefs, Parliamentarians, Diplomats and Judges of SC.
