Premji Invest gets new CIO

Premji Invest gets new CIO Premji Invest, the investment office of Wipro Chief Azim Premji, today announced the appointment of TK Kurien as its Managing partner and Chief Investment Officer, effective February 1.  He succeeds Prakash Parthasarathy, the current Managing Partner and CIO, who has decided to pursue his entrepreneurial aspirations, a release said. and Member of the Board at IT major Wipro will retire from the company on January 31, 2017.  "TK (Kurien) with his decades of experience in running startups and established enterprises and deep financial acumen is best positioned to take Premji Invest to the next level," Premji Invest Chairman Azim Premji said.

"Prakash has built an excellent organization at Premji Invest as its founding CIO and leaves behind an impressive track record over the last decade, delivered with integrity and trust. 

I wish him the very best in his entrepreneurial journey," he added. 

Commenting on his appointment, Kurien said he is deeply honored by the trust reposed in him to lead Premji Invest, an important fiduciary organization in supporting the philanthropic goals of Azim Premji. 

Popularly known as TK within the industry circles, Kurien had earlier served Wipro as its CEO from February 2011 to January 2016.
