Fali Nariman pulls out of SC-appointed committee

Fali Nariman pulls out of SC-appointed committee Fali Nariman, who was part of the two-member panel to suggest names for a committee of administrators to run the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), has pulled out of the panel, according to reports on Tuesday (January 3). The 87-year-old has been replaced by Anil Divan, a senior lawyer. Nariman told the court he cannot work in the
position as he was previously involved with the board in 2009 and can't suggest names. On Tuesday (January 2), the Supreme Court removed Anurag Thakur and Ajay Shirke as the BCCI president and secretary.

The two-member panel had been formed by the apex court right after, to suggest names of the candidates to oversee the operations of the BCCI, on January 19. Till then, Rahul Johri, the BCCI Chief Executive Officer (CEO), will oversee the proceedings in the board.
