Defense Ministry permits Arunachal Pradesh to use ALGs for civilian purpose

Defense Ministry has given permission to Arunachal Pradesh government to use the functional Advance Landing Grounds (ALGs) in the state for civilian purpose. The ALGs across the state have been developed by the Defence Ministry and are under the direct control of the Indian Air Force (IAF). AIR correspondent (संवाददाता) reports that Defence Secretary G Mohan Kumar yesterday in a letter to the Arunachal government has informed that civil operations from Ziro, Mechuka, Walong, Aalo, Pasighat and Tuting Advanced Landing Grounds are being permitted(अनुमति है). 

Mr. Kumar has suggested the state government to approach(दृष्टिकोण) the Union Ministry of Civil Aviation for construction of civil terminal at these Advanced Landing Grounds and for scheduled civil operations. On this Chief Minister Pema Khandu said that a very popular demand of the people has been fulfilled and it would directly boost (प्रोत्साहन)tourism and other commercial activities in the region.
