Zero Discrimination Day 2017 observed

Zero Discrimination (भेदभाव) Day 2017 observed Zero Discrimination Day was observed across the world on 1 March 2017. The day was observed with the theme Make Some Noise for Zero Discrimination.Zero Discrimination Day calls for fair and just societies and urges(आग्रह)  people to value, embrace(शामिल करना) diversity and recognize the diverse set of talents and skills that each person brings.The day urges people to join together against discrimination and celebrate everyone’s right to live a full and productive life with dignity(गौरव) .For the year 2017, UNAIDS calls for zero discrimination in health-care settings. The right to health is a fundamental human right that includes access to timely, affordable and quality health-care services for all.About Zero Discrimination Day

• The UN first celebrated Zero Discrimination Day on 1 March 2014.

• It was observed after UNAIDS launched its Zero Discrimination Campaign on World AIDS Day in December 2013. The UNAIDS is a UN program on human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) and Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (AIDS).

• Organizations like the United Nations actively promote the day with various activities to celebrate everyone’s right to live a full life with dignity regardless of age, gender, sexuality, nationality, ethnicity, skin colour, height, weight, profession, education, and beliefs.
