World Civil Defence Day (नागरिक सुरक्षा दिवस )– March 1, 2017
World Civil Defence Day is celebrated(मशहूर) on 1st March every year across the world to commemorates the entry into force of the ICDO Constitution as an intergovernmental (सरकार-सरकार के बीच) organisation in 1972.The day was created by decision of the International Civil Defence Organisation (ICDO) General Assembly in 1990. 2017 Theme: “Together with civil defence against disasters”.
ICDO was created in 1931 in Paris by French Surgeon(शल्य चिकित्सक) -General George Saint-Paul.
The organization was recognized by the French Parliament in June 1935 and in 1972 it achieved status of intergovernmental organization.
