IFFI to begin from Nov 20 with films from 88 nations

he 47th International film festival of India is to kick off from 20th November in Goa. This year of 1032 entries received, 194 films from 88 countries have been chosen to be screened in the IFFI. The 47th edition will have special focus on South Korea. Indian playback singer SP Balasubramaniam will be honoured with life time achievement award at the festival. The edition will also have a special award for the best debut
feature film by a director.  The government has been focusing on making India a preferred destination of film makers by providing a diverse platform to the film industry.  India, the largest film producing country will play host to the best talent and cinema from around the globe as 47th International film festival of India looks all set to perform a stellar show from November 20 to 28TH in Goa. This year of 1032 entries received, 194 films from 88 countries have been chosen to be screened in the IFFI. The special focus will be on the films from republic of Korea. 

Versatile singer SP Balasubramaniam will be conferred Centenary Award for Indian Film Personality at the IFFI.

SP Balasubramaniam holds record for singing more than 40000 songs and has won national award for playback singing 6 times.

The festival will also Give a Gandhi medal and award for encouraging young talent in film direction. 

The extravaganza will kick off with Polish film 'After Image' and end with Korean film 'The Age of Shadows'.

Indian panorama will include blockbusters Baahubali, Sultan, Bajirao Mastani, Airlift and Marathi Hit Sairat.

Looks like Goa, the land of sun and sand is all set for its rendezvous with super hits of cinema too.
