Govt. announces several Secretary-level appointments

Mr. Anil Swarup, Secretary, Ministry of Coal has been appointed as Secretary, Department of School Education & Literacy, Ministry of Human Resource Development (HRD).  Mr. Swarup, an Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of the 1981 batch (Uttar Pradesh cadre), will succeed Mr. Subash Chandra Khuntia, on his repatriation to his cadre.  An official press release said the Appointments

Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) had also approved the appointment of Mr. Rajiv Yadav, IAS (AM 81), Secretary, Department of Sports as Secretary, Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs vice Mr. Prabhas Kumar Jha, IAS (UP 82) on his appointment as Secretary, Department of Official Languages, Ministry of Home Affairs.

Mr. Ameising Luikham, IAS (MN 81), Secretary, Department of Public Enterprises, Ministry of Heavy Industries & Public Enterprises has been appointed as Officer on Special Duty in the Ministry of Minority Affairs. The officer will take over as Secretary, Ministry of Minority Affairs on superannuation of the present incumbent Mr. Rakesh Garg, IAS (UP 80).

Mr. Anoop Kumar Srivastava, IAS (AM 81), Secretary, Department of Official Language, Ministry of Home Affairs, has been appointed as Officer on Special Duty in the Ministry of Tribal Affairs. The officer will take over as Secretary, Ministry of Tribal Affairs on superannuation of the present incumbent Mr. Shyam S. Agarwal, IAS (RJ 80).

Mr. Raghav Chandra, IAS (MP 82), Chairman, National Highways Authority of India, Ministry of Road Transport & Highways has been appointed as Secretary, National Commission for Scheduled Tribes vice Mr. Anil Kumar Agarwal, IAS (superannuated).

Mr. Prabhas Kumar Jha, IAS (UP 82), Secretary, Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs as Secretary, Department of Official Languages, Ministry of Home Affairs vice Mr. Srivastava on his appointment as OSD, Ministry of Tribal Affairs.

Mr. Susheel Kumar, IAS (UP 82), Secretary, Department of Border Management, Ministry of Home Affairs has been appointed as Secretary, Ministry of Coal vice Mr. Swarup.

Mr. Rajeev Kapoor, IAS (UP 83), Director, Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration, Mussoorie has been appointed as Secretary, Ministry of New & Renewable Energy vice Mr. Upendra Tripathi, IAS (superannuated).

Mr. N.S. Kang, IAS (PB 83), Secretary & Director General, National AIDS Control Organisation (NACO), Ministry of Health & Family Welfare has been appointed as Secretary, Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities vice Dr Vinod Agrawal, IAS (superannuated).

Ms. Upma Chaudhary, IAS (HP 83), presently in the cadre, has been appointed as Director, Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration, Mussoorie vice Mr. Kapoor.

Mr. Asha Ram Sihag, IAS (HP 83), Secretary, Union Public Service Commission has been appointed as Secretary, Coordination & Public Grievances, Cabinet Secretariat vice Mr. Sanjay Kumar Srivastava, IAS (AGMUT 80) on his repatriation to his cadre.

Mr. Injeti Srinivas, IAS (OR 83), Director General, Sports Authority of India, Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports has been appointed as Secretary, Department of Sports —cum- Director General, Sports Authority of India, Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports vice Mr. Rajiv Yadav, IAS (AM 81) on his appointment as Secretary, Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs.

Mr. Yudhvir Singh Malik, IAS (HY 83), Special Secretary, NITI Aayog has been appointed as Chairman, National Highways Authority of India  vice Mr. Chandra.

Ms. Sanjeevanee Kutty, IAS (MH 83), Special Secretary & Financial Adviser, Ministry of Home Affairs has been appointed as Secretary, Department of Border Management, Ministry of Home Affairs vice Mr. Susheel Kumar.

Mr. Kewal Kumar Sharma, lAS (AGMUT 83), presently in the cadre, has been appointed as Officer on Special Duty in the Department of Higher Education. The officer will take over as Secretary, Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Human Resource Development, on superannuation of the present incumbent, Mr. Vinay Sheel Oberoi.

Ms. Bharati S. Sihag, IAS (HP 83), Special Secretary & Financial Adviser, Ministry of Steel has been appointed as Officer on Special Duty in the Department of Fertilisers. The officer will take over as Secretary, Department of Fertilisers, Ministry of Chemicals & Fertilisers, on superannuation of the present incumbent, Mr. Vijay Shanker Pandey, IAS (UP 79).

Ms. Seema Bahuguna, IAS (RJ 83), Special Secretary & Financial Adviser, Department of Rural Development, Ministry of Rural Development has been appointed as Secretary, Department of Public Enterprises, Ministry of Heavy Industry & Public Enterprises, vice Mr. Ameising Luikham.

Ms. Preeti Sudan, IAS (AP 83), Special Secretary, Ministry of Women & Child Development has been appointed as Secretary, Department of Food & Public Distribution, Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution, vice Ms. Vrinda Sarup, IAS (UP 81), on her superannuation.

Mr. K.P. Krishnan, IAS (KN 83), Special Secretary, Department of Land Resources, Ministry of Rural Development has been appointed as Secretary, Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, vice Mr. Rohit Nandan, IAS (UP 82), on his superannuation.

The ACC has also approved extension of tenure of Mr. R.K. Jain, IAS (HP 81) (Retd), Member, National Disaster Management Authority, for six months beyond 30.11.2016, the release added.
