Hry govt to offer meals(भोजन) at subsidised rates for workers

Chandigarh, May 5 (PTI) Haryana government today said it has decided to open canteens offering meals at subsidised(आर्थिक सहायता-प्राप्त) rates to registered construction workers under the Antyodaya Anna Yojana, at 23 locations in the state. Besides, mobile food vans would be started at 23 convenient sites with large number of workers. This was stated by Minister of State for Labour and Employment Nayab Singh, while presiding over a review (समीक्षा) meeting here today. He said that meals would be served in these canteens between 8 am and 2 pm, and the department would pay special attention to quality of food served.

Antyodaya-Anna -Yojana

Antyodaya Anna Yojana (AAY) is a Government of India sponsored scheme to provide highly subsidised food to millions of the poorest families. It was launched by the [NDA] government on 25 December 2000 and first implemented in the Indian state of Rajasthan.
