SCR wins 9 National Energy Conservation Awards

SCR wins 9 National Energy Conservation Awards Hyderabad: The South Central Railway has won nine National Energy Conservation Awards for the year 2016. These awards are in recognition of its achievements in the area of energy conservation. General Manager of South Central Railway Vashishta Johri and a team of officials of the zone will receive the awards in New Delhi from Union Minister of
State for Power Piyush Goyal on December 14. The National Energy Conservation Awards won are in Zonal Railways sector to South Central Railway; Office Buildings sector to Passenger Reservation System (PRS) office; Railway Workshops sector to Electrical Loco Shed/Kazipet; Office Buildings sector to Lekha Bhavan (FA&CAO) office; Universities & Engineering Institution Buildings sector to Indian Railway Institute of Signal Engineering & Telecommunications (IRISET) and four Certificates of Merit in various sectors.

The South Central Railway has been receiving Bureau of Energy Efficiency awards for energy conservation for the past six years. It is for the first time that SCR has won nine awards in one year, out of the total of 27 awards received by entire Indian Railways.
