Govt launches campaign to educate people about digital payments, 
Government has launched a massive campaign to educate people about digital payments. The campaign comes in the wake of government’s demonetisation move and resulted cash crunch. organizations like Nehru Yuva Kendra are being roped in to spread the awareness on digital payments and its advantages
over cash payments. Aadhaar enrolments have jumped to 7 lakh a day from 4 to 5 lakh per day after Government’s decision to demonetize high value currency notes.
NITI Aayog has constituted a committee of Chief Ministers headed by Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister to adopt global best practices on digital payment and making India a cashless soceity.
The Aayog is also in touch with Chief Secretary and Finance Secetaries of states and union teritories and also with all District Magistrates regarding the issue.
The government is encouraging Unified Payments Interface (UPI), e-wallet, use of debit and prepaid cards and Adhaar enabled payment system among others to promote digital payment systems.
A nationwide campaign has already been launched to spread awareness in this regard.

The NITI Aayog, which has been entrusted with the task to create awareness about these systems all across the nation, has already discussed everything related to the scheme with all district collectors, officials in various ministries and others.
