UPSC Declares Final Result for Assistant Geologist Post, Merit List at upsc.gov.in Final results have been declared for Assistant Geologist post. Candidates who had appeared for the examination can now check their result at upsc.gov.in. Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has declared the final result for the post of Assistant Geologists in Geological Survey of India, Ministry of Mines. A total of
136 candidates have been recommended for appointment against 139 vacancies. Candidates have been selected on the basis of their performance in the recruitment test held on 22 May and subsequent interview from 21 November till 05 December. 03 posts are still lying vacant with the Commission as these are reserved for PH candidates and deserving candidates are not available.

Candidates should note that the result details i.e. cut off marks etc. will be uploaded on the Commission’s Website within next 30 days.

About UPSC Geologist CBRT: Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) had started the recruitment process for recruitment to the post Assistant Geologist in Geological Survey of India, Ministry of Mines. Applications were invited through Advertisement No 15/2015, Item No. 06, Vacancy No. 15101506624, Dtd 24 October 2015.

Union Public Service Commission or abbreviated as UPSC is India's central agency authorised to conduct the Civil Services Examination, Engineering Services Examination, Combined Medical Services Examination, Combined Defence Services Examination, National Defence Academy Examination, Naval Academy Examination, Special Class Railway Apprentice, Indian Forest Service examination, Indian Economic Service/Indian Statistical Service Examination, Combined Geoscientist and Geologist Examination, and Central Armed Police Forces(Assistant Commandant) Examination. UPSC also conducts other recruitment examinations every year to select eligible and deserving candidates against available vacancies in various depts under Govt of India.

The Commission consists of a chairman and ten members. The terms and conditions of service of chairman and members of the Commission are governed by the Union Public Service Commission (Members) Regulations, 1969. The Chairman and other members of the UPSC (Union Public Service Commission) are appointed by the President of India. At least half of the members of the Commission are Civil Servants (working or retired) with minimum ten years of experience either in Central or State service.
