Surat student wins top prize in National Science Olympiad


Surat: Smitul A Vacchani, class VIII student of Delhi Public School of Surat, got first rank in National Science Olympiad of 2015-16. He won two international ranks in the recently held Olympiad in Delhi organized by Science Olympiad Foundation. Nearly 45 lakh students from over 34,000 schools from 1,400 cities across 23 countries, including India, participated in the Olympiad exams. Nearly 45,000 students
participated in this exam from Surat. She was awarded a gold medal and a cash prize of Rs 50,000. In the function held at Delhi, top three international rank holders from class I to XII from four Olympiad exams conducted were awarded by SOF.
The top 10 principals and top 40 teachers, whose students put up an exceptional performance at international level, were also felicitated with cash awards, mementos and citations.
