First time ever International Women's Film Forum instituted a National Award after the name of great freedom fighter, poet and a lady who initiated Asian Unity - Dr. Sarojni Naidu, at Noida Film City in a grand function, originated by ICMEI- International Chamber of Media and Entertainment Industry. A committee of 52 working women from different strata of life from
all over India was invited to work on this national event including the nominated awardees for the final day to be held at Vigyan Bhawan in a few weeks time.
"What a great initiative by Sandeep Marwah, who has always been a pioneer and innovative in his work. It is my privilege and honour to be part of this great national event to launch an award after the name of the great leader of our country, Dr. Sarojni Naidu," said Vimla Batham, MLA, Noida, UP Vidhan Sabha.
"Dr Sarojni Naidu has been honoured as 'Nightingale of India'. She was the first woman to become the Governor of the Indian State. She awakened the women ofIndia, brought them out of the kitchen. She travelled from state to state, city after city and advocated for the rights of the women. She re-established self-esteem within the women of India. Her journey to success is a source of inspiration for everyone," said Sandeep Marwah, President of Marwah Studios and ICMEI.
Sandeep Marwah, a renowned media personality, recently titled as 'Global Cultural Minister', has created International Women's Film Forum to promote women from all segments of life and give them a political, social and economical equality and stability in the World.
Later Sandeep Marwah honored all the 52 women with the life membership of IWFF-International Women's Film Forum and a memento, projecting a sketch of Dr.Sarojni Naidu as mark of respect.
Sardar Patel Forum, Shaheed Bhagat Singh Forum, Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru Forum, Mahatma Gandhi Forum, Sarvepalli Dr. Radhakrishnan Forum and Shakespeare Society supported the event.
Asian Academy of Film and Television, Asian School of Media Studies, Radio Noida 107.4FM, Country and Politics newspaper and mstv.co.in - television station were part of the event.
