Senior journalist Alka Saxena has joined Amar Ujala as Editor Digital & Convergence. Saxena exited News Express as Managing Editor before taking up her new role at Amar Ujala. Prior to her stint at News Express, she was with the Zee Media Group. She has also worked with Sahara Samay. Saxena has a rich experience of close to 30 years in the field of journalism. Saxena started her career in 1985 as a freelance
journalist. She worked for Sunday Observer, Hindustan, Navbharat Times, Jansatta among others and was associated with print journalism for over nine years. She joined TV journalism in 1995. She was one of the founding members of Aaj Tak where she also worked for six years. She joined Zee News as Editor from 2001 to 2005 after which she was a guest anchor at Janmat Channel (now known as Live India). From 2008 to 2013, Saxena worked as consulting editor at Zee News.
